And so it begins ....

I've just accepted an offer with Google. I'm both excited and scared; this is going to be different than places I've worked in before. And, of course, it's full time work after several years of part time and six months off. But it's going to be interesting.

How very surreal. Your "YAY" icon is a photograph of a sign I made, on the night they started handing out marriage licenses to gay couples in Cambridge.

In my entry from the day after, I note how many people took pictures of it:

Thank you for this tiny reminder that some of the things I do have staying power, and I can never predict which ones. :) May I steal the icon?

It's so nice to meet the maker of the Yay sign! My partner and I got married there, or at least lined up to file our intention to marry. We both loved that sign so much we went home and made one of our own the next day! And we still have our sign 6 years later.

And yes, I'd love for you to have the icon. Our friend golux_org took the picture, so I can't take credit for it myself. I'd also be happy to send you the actual picture the icon came from if you'd like it. We have a few pictures of you, or maybe your friend, holding the sign that night.

Thank you for making and bringing the Yay sign! It was perfect and we still love it. Yay!
